This may be some what strange, but one of my favourite instruments is the cowbell. There is just something about it which is quite special. It may be because I grew up on a farm surrounded by cows. Or because I'm weird. I would say a bit of the both.
All of my favourite songs incorporate this instruments. Some of which include Snakadaktal, The Kooks, San Cisco and more.
This instrument is more common in music these days. However it did originate from OBVIOUSLY the cow. The cowbell was used to help determine which cows belonged to what herd. These days we use branding for this (a some what cruel but more easier way to distinguish the animals). I guess you could say the cow bell is a giant version of a cats bell.
Whatever the origin of this fascinating yet simple instrument. It is easy to say IT IS AMAZING
