ANDREW STOCKDALE - WOLFMOTHER

It was a sad day about a month ago when Wolfmother announced that the band was splitting up. You can imagine my surprise when my house mate called me at work and said the band was playing at her work (the Gramercy Bistro). The band was staying there for a few days while front man Andrew Stockdale promoted his latest solo project and EP Keep Moving. It seems that the wheels haven't stopped rolling for the Byron local. The first night the band was there they started playing an acoustic set in the restaurant and then later decided hey why not perform a pop up gig in the foyer. So well they did. Performing infront of a humble crowed of 50+ for free playing some of the bands best hits and also some of Andrew's new stuff. It was hot and sweaty under the heat lamps and Stockdale decided it may be just a little to hot to wear the lovely green sweater his Grandma knitted him (cute). The performance was impecable with fans cheering and on-lookers on the streets stoping to join in on the show. After their set was over band members Ian Peres, Vin Steele, Elliot Hammond (who is also the drummer for The Delta Riggs) and of course Andrew hung-out with adoring fans long into the night. It isn't often you see such an internationally acclaimed band chill with 'the little people' it was a nice change and justa went to show that these are some pretty cool dudes who don't let the fame go to their head.

We look forward to watching Stockdale's and the rest of the band members' solo careers.

If you missed out on seeing the guys in Melbourne, never fear Andrew will be touring Australia over the next month and have his band in-toe. Check out all the deats HERE
